The Targeted Resume: Function and Format
Wed., October 18, 2006
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
No matter how good you think your resume is, this workshop will help make it even better. Today, resumes must prove to the employer that you can do the job, or you don’t get an interview. In fact, did you know that when you apply online, the average time spent scanning your resume is 7 seconds! That means you have to convince an employer you’re qualified by writing a targeted summary. This workshop also covers formatting guidelines that will make your resume look its best and beat the pitfalls of machine reading/screening. Please bring a paper copy of your resume to the workshop.
Interviewing from the Employer’s Side of the Desk Monday, October 23, 2006
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
If you want to know what employers look for during an interview, Nathan Van De Voorde, senior recruiter for Citi Cards, is ready to tell all. Please join us at this workshop featuring one of the Career Marketplace’s premier corporate partners. Nathan’s presentation starts by telling you what employers want to hear and see during an interview…what gets them excited about a candidate. Then he’ll open the floor and take your questions. Now’s your chance to learn about interviewing from the employer’s side of the desk. Note: This workshop is different than our usual “how to interview” workshop, so please plan on attending.
