Special Career Bazaar  & Hiring Fair Edition
Connect in-person with area employers on March 26th

Get out from behind your computer and meet area employers face-to-face. Where? At the Urban League’s 4th Annual Career Bazaar & Hiring Fair scheduled for March 26th at the Hyatt Hotel (2345 McGee in Kansas City). Benita Ugoline, Career Marketplace director, urges job seekers to take a more proactive approach to their searches and attend. “This is an incredible opportunity to find out what an employer’s hiring process is like, what their current needs are, and to present your skills and experience. Networking doesn’t get any better than at a job fair, because employers expect to and are eager to talk with job seekers.”

What types of jobs will be available?

Most employers will have professional- and support-level positions available. Areas of need will be very broad: sales, accounting/finance, information technology, customer service, purchasing, management, marketing, security, human resources, operations, and more. There will also be employers specifically seeking people with call center and food service experience.

Who should attend?

Employers participating in the Career Bazaar & Hiring Fair will be looking for degreed professionals (Master’s, Bachelor’s and Associate degree holders), recent or soon-to-be college graduates, and skilled individuals

with high school diplomas or the equivalent. Job seekers must be at least 21 years of age to attend.

Learn how to job hunt, too

In addition to talking with employers, plan on attending one or more of the Career Bazaar Workshops. Learn the secrets of creating a market savvy resume, successful interviewing, networking, and more. The complete workshop schedule is on page four. Pre-registration for workshops is recommended. Call 816-471-0550 or email receptionist@ulkc.org.
