We give you access to skilled minority workers…

professionals, paraprofessionals and entry-level talent

While the Urban League of Greater Kansas City has always had an employment assistance program, today’s Career Marketplace was established in 2003. Since then we have met with hundreds of minority workers and registered them in our database. In fact, each year we add about 500 new job seekers as program clients.

Our job seekers are typically graduates of colleges or universities. We recruit them from minority professional organizations, minority fraternities and sororities, faith based organizations, broad media sources, and if need be, from the National Urban League’s network of affiliates.

We help you identify and screen minority applicants

The biggest benefit of a Career Marketplace partnership is that we help you identify and screen minority applicants. We reduce your recruiting burden by comparing your jobs’ requirements against the skills, work experience and education of our job seekers. Our goal is to make the best matches we can, and provide you with applicants who truly have the potential to make positive contributions in your workplace.

One other benefit of partnering with the Career Marketplace is that we will notify the EEOC that you are complying with guidelines by working with us.

Service options are designed to meet your strategic and budget needs

The first step in using the Career Marketplace as part of your recruitment strategy is to enroll as a partner. This requires signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and choosing between one of four service packages or a la carte services (pdf).

Choosing a package has distinct advantages over a la carte services. Namely, packages contain discounts and free offers on other Career Marketplace and Urban League services.

Please note that all Career Marketplace Partners must be also become corporate members of the Urban League.
